Initiation of NepCERT ( October, 2005)

NEPCERT shall provide services to improve the security of computer systems so as to reduce the risk of unauthorized access and financial/data loss.

NEPCERT shall operate with the mutual consent and co-operation of its partners (Like CAN, HMG, ISPN, Nepal Police, Telecom & Private IT sector).

• Promoting cooperation amongst IT constituents for the effective prevention, detection, and recovery from computer security incidents.
  
• Providing a means for the communication of alert and advisory information on potential threats and emerging incident situations.
  
• Promoting the sharing of computer security information, tools, and techniques.
  
• Providing professional security services to harden networks from intruder attacks.
